SOL SHADOW DAY

3 Hours On February 6th I went to shadow at an art academy. I applied for visual arts, therefore I was standing there in the room surrounded by juniors who were working on their masterpieces. I had to stand there look in the mirror and draw a self portrait. It was already a challenge but what made it even more challenging was that I had to draw for 3 hours with a 15 minute break in the middle. But really the scary part was that I was in a room full of juniors so it was a little intimidating but I ended up feeling comfortable with their presence. The self portrait was drawn from charcoal and there was an eraser and kneaded eraser which was entirely covered in charcoal since it goes everywhere. I was thankful that I wore black because if I didn’t then I would have stained by clothing. Throughout the three hour self-portrait challenge I ended up having fun and time went by fast. A story of Young Love

A story of Young Love      Today I’m going to be talking about a story full of young love, it’s called “Romiette and Julio”, it falls in the genres young adult, fiction, and romance. If you closely observe the title it sounds like “ Romeo and Juliet”. This book talks about two 16 year olds Romiette Capelle and Julio Montague, they both come from different backgrounds but end up falling for each other. Romiette is a very strong and independent woman, she doesn’t believe in dating guys or that any guy from where she is, is attractive. Eventually when a new boy comes into town it changes her whole perspective, that new boy is Julio. Julio just moved from Texas where he would describe it as a colorful and lively place, in contrast to where he is now which is dull and gray. When they meet it’s like love at first sight, nothing could possibly destroy these lovebirds.       Then again love isn’t perfect, within love there are compilations and tough obstacles.
