My Priceless Painting

Image
My Priceless Painting  My priceless Painting is a painting that I did last year in one of my art classes, it’s a painting of a mountain and tree, it was an art project that’s valuable to me because it has color. Color matters because I personally don’t enjoy using it in my art because I think it’s a very risky move especially when you can easily mess it up. Most of my art pieces are in black and white because I think it’s a lot more realistic and it’s easier to use rather than coloring the art pieces. A message I learned from this simple painting is that even though you’re going to make mistakes and errors you can learn from them and apply them to your life. After painting this, I realized that even though it didn’t come out as I wanted I can learn different techniques and use them in my other paintings, rather than not trying because I am afraid to make mistakes. The painting above was done by me, it was actually one of the first art classes that I took in a while because I

A Wicked book

Image
A Wicked Book Wicked is a book about someone familiar to a majority of us. The Wicked Witch of the West, from The Wizard of Oz . The Wicked Witch of the West is the awful Witch who tried to take the ruby red slippers, she was seen as a soulless Witch with a heart as cold as the snow. Something we should ask ourselves is do we know the story? Did we see both sides of the argument? I bet you didn’t know that the Witch’s name was Elphaba. Believe it or not Elphaba was an actual human being, a person. Although she was out of the ordinary there was more than to what meets the eye. It would be a lie to say that she was the nicest person, buy it would also be a lie to say she was an awful person. In fact she was just like us. She had her ups and downs in life. Throughout the book it talks about Elphaba growing up as well as the environment she grew up in. One interesting thing I learned throughout the book is that Elphaba actually enjoys reading very much. About a third way through the

3 More Quarters To Go!

3 More Quarters To Go! First quarter is done, and there are three more to go. My thoughts on first quarter would be, “Interesting”. I feel like so much has happened. After meeting back up with my friends and catching up on each other’s weird summers I felt like myself again. In sixth and seventh grade it never really hit me that I was going to high school, but now that I’m in 8th grade, I’M FREAKING OUT! I am in a dilemma choosing which high school I want to go to, I’m interested in an art school, but I doubt I’ll make it. Moving away from that topic, lets talk about classes. Our school has 4 classes a day which means sitting in each class for 88 minutes, we also have a system where you have a certain class on a B-Day or A-Day(It’s every other day). For B-Day my classes from 1-4 are:Art, ELA, MATH, and SOCIAL STUDIES. On B-Days it’s: PE,ELA,MATH, and SCIENCE. My favorite class is Math, mostly because it’s easy for me to understand Math most of the time and for some odd reason, it’s

The Outsiders Making Connections

The Outsiders Making Connections The article I read was “Healing  ‘Brick City’:  A Newark Doctor Returns Home”, it’s about a doctor who returns to his home, and it’s not exactly the best place in the world. He came from a rough background, but ended up excelling. This reminds me of Ponyboy and the settings in the Outsiders because although he comes from a harsh background he can be very successful in life with his intelligence, and as for the setting the environment that they grew up in.                 One quote from the article is, “I always had hopes and aspirations of doing more with my life”. I chose this quote because it reminds me of Ponyboy, I believe Ponyboy can do a lot with his life. I say he can do a lot with his life because he is very intelligent and he chooses to do what he believes is right. For example in the church he risked his life to save the children, therefore I think this relates to the outsiders. Another quote from the article is, “education can change a

Outsiders Book and Movie Comparison

The Outsiders Book and Movie Comparison The Outsiders Book and Movie Contrast/Differences Between the movie and the book there are very minor differences, one of those differences is the beginning. In the book near the very beginning it gives a brief summary of each character, while in the movie you find out more about the characters as it goes on. For example, the first scene where you meet Darry you see him yell and then push Ponyboy. This scene is quite a surprise because that’s all you know about Darry so far, while the book is the opposite and gives the reader background knowledge. Due to the beginning in the movie being different from the book the rising action is what the beginning seems to be, because the climax is near the beginning. Near the very beginning Pony and Johnny are with Cherry and Marcia, in the drive-in and when they are walking home. In the book the part where Johnny fights and kills Bob is in the middle, as for the movie, this scene is near the very beginn
